16mm film was a popular alternative to the professional 35mm in the early to mid 1900s. The silent film medium provided household access to home video for the first time in the modern world. In 2019, the ability to transfer 16mm frame by frame is few and far between. High quality scans of each image are a luxury provided to those with custom machines.
Our process for 16mm is for the sole purpose of preservation. We capture the film from projection into a high-definition DSLR camera and process the footage for brightness and contrast.
